Josefina Freitag

Josefina graduated from FIU Honors College in May 2020 Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.

Bio

I am the research coordinator for the EMU Study. I graduated from FIU Honors College in May 2020 with a BA in Psychology and joined the EMU Study team that same year.

I have a particular interest in internalizing disorders (e.g., anxiety, depression), including the cognitive and sociocultural factors that contribute to their onset, maintenance, and recurrence. I am interested in learning more about the importance of sleep and how it can be protective factor against anxiety and depression. In addition, I am also interested in gaining a better understanding about self-injurious behaviors and their prevention, and improving the quality, scope, and accessibility of mental health services.
